Jim O’Brien has made his mark in the entertainment industry in radio,
comedy, music, film and television. His self-designed wacky wardrobe and
unique style have earned him celebrity status in the pages of US
Magazine's Fashion Police section.
Jim’s musical collaboration with legendary comedy icon, Rip Taylor,
is one of the highlights of his career, and his comedy songs are being
played on hundreds of radio stations across the United States and Canada
including The Dr. Demento Radio Show, The All Comedy Radio Network,
Sirius Satellite Radio and XM Satellite Radio.
Jim first rose to prominence as a radio personality. His
original and entertaining broadcasts quickly gained wide notoriety,
making him the most dominant figure in his market. Over a period of five
years, his shows consistently drew the highest ratings for his stations.
After five years and over ten thousand hours on the air, Jim moved
his talents from behind the radio microphone and onto stages nationwide.
While making a home with Scottsdale Arizona’s internationally renowned
improv troupe, The Oxymoronz, Jim shook the corporate world with a
unique brand of motivational speaking. His popular lampoons, “Take the
Day and Get Rich” and “You ARE a Loser” were a top draw with
Fortune 500 Companies.
Despite his success in radio and corporate speaking, Jim’s true
love is comedy - with a musical twist. He is a national headliner on
numerous comedy club circuits. O’Brien currently lives in Los Angeles,
California, where he works regularly as an actor in film and television.
He has been honored with membership in the legendary Friars Club,
where he has performed in many of their famous Celebrity Roasts and
shared the stage with legends like Buddy Hackett, Red Buttons, and South
Park‘s Trey Parker and Matt Stone. Most notably, he is the creator and
host of the club’s longest running regular show, “Jim O’Brien’s
Rock Skool Comedy Show” a twisted tribute to Rock’n’Roll.
Jim's second album is a CD of original comedy
songs and parodies, including “The Real Rip Taylor.” The hilarious
parody of Eminem’s tome, “The Real Slim Shady,” is being played on
radio stations nationwide and is quickly achieving cult status. This
success brings Jim full circle back to radio, the medium in which he
started.
